Having dry eyes is such an irritating issue that one should just want to get rid of it as soon as possible. Here, you can try some easy ways to treat dry eyes:

  • Warm Compress: You need to take a clean washcloth and heat it with warm or hot water and then ring out the water and fold the washcloth in half. Now simply lay the compress over your closed eyes for not more than 5 minutes. Try this for at least twice a day.

  • Omega 3 Fatty Acids: Start having 1 fish oil pill with lunch and one with dinner. You can increase the dose to 2 pills with lunch and 2 pills with dinner after 2 to 3 weeks.

  • Lacrisert: Use an applicator or a clean finger to place the tablet in the lower pocket between tour eyelid and your eyeball. You can use the lacrisert tablets in the morning and it will provide lubrication all the day. Some people like to use lacrisert before going to bed so that it can prevent overnight ocular dryness.
  • Artificial Tears: You can use artificial tears for 4-5 times a day. Use artificial tears when your eyes feel dry or irritated and before reading and close work. You need to wait 2-3 minutes before you start reading anything as these drops may momentarily blur your vision.
