Eyelid lifting refers to blepharoplasty surgery. This surgery is performed to remove redundant tissue from the upper to lower eyelids. Cosmetic blepharoplasty is performed to provide a more youthful and rested eye appearance. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty can be covered by some insurance carriers or Medicine if significant visual field loss is caused due to a redundant upper eyelid skin. Ptosis surgery generally refers to a droopy upper eyelid where the upper eyelid margin is lower than the normal one. However, in some cases, it may cover the part of all of the pupil. Ptosis repair may be covered by some insurance carriers or Medicare if significant visual field loss is caused by the abnormal upper eyelid position.
